About NBO
Nurses dedicate their time, energy, and compassion to caring for others. The demands of the profession can also affect their own emotional and physical well-being.
The Nurse Burnout (NBO) app was created to help nurses become more aware of how they are feeling, explore activities that may support their well-being, and build healthier daily routines.
By bringing symptom tracking, personalized activity suggestions, educational resources, and community features together in one easy-to-use app, NBO gives nurses a practical tool to support their own well-being—while continuing to care for others.
Our vision is a nursing community where well-being receives the attention it deserves.
We aim to make it easier for nurses to recognize patterns in how they feel, discover practical ways to manage everyday stress, and take small, meaningful steps toward improved personal well-being.
We believe that supporting nurses starts with giving them accessible tools, useful information, and the flexibility to find approaches that work for them.
NBO draws on established principles and published research related to nurse burnout and well-being. These resources informed the development of an app designed to help nurses reflect on their experiences and explore supportive activities.
The app allows users to:
- Record symptoms and feelings: Track experiences such as stress, fatigue, anxiety, and other emotional or physical concerns.
- Explore recommended activities: Discover suggested activities, games, and educational content that may help support well-being.
- Review personal progress: Use daily entries and trends to reflect on experiences and identify patterns over time.
- Learn at their own pace: Choose activities that fit their individual needs, preferences, and routines, without a rigid program or prescribed schedule.
NBO is designed to support self-awareness and personal well-being. It is not a medical or mental health diagnostic tool, and it does not replace professional care.
Well-being can be a personal journey, but people can also learn from shared experiences.
NBO's optional Community features allow users to connect, discover activities, follow other members, and learn from wellness-related experiences shared on the platform. Avatars help support participation without requiring users to display their real names publicly.
Users can choose privacy settings that suit their preferences. When an account is set to private, the user's profile and activities are hidden from community features, including the community Daily Diary. Users should review the app's privacy settings to understand how their information is displayed.
Our goal is to encourage a respectful, supportive environment where nurses can explore new ideas and pursue their own well-being goals.
NBO is available for:
- Android devices through Google Play
- iPhone and iOS devices through the Apple App Store
